NEXT Generation!

With more than 28,000 entries, the Next Generation Children's Model competition was a runaway (or should that be runway) success, organised by the high street clothes retailer to find new junior modelling talent across Britain. Entry was open to children aged between four and seven years old, and only two could be crowned.

Junior was there for the glittering awards party on December 21 at Woburn Abbey. Hosted by Gaby Roslin along with CBBC presenters Sam and Mark, urban performers 'Flawless'also hosted dance workshops throughout the day for the semifinalists.

The two winners, Freya Howlett, four, from High Wycombe, and Reece Pockney, five, from Saltdean near Brighton will appear in the Next catalogue for 2010. They, along with ten runners-up, also secured a place with junior modelling agency 'Urban Angels', and will appear in posters at Next shops' windows across the nation.

Another winner was seven-year-old Olivia Tobin, who won the T-shirt design challenge, which was open to children up to 16. Her design will be produced by Next for summer 2010, with profits from sales going to the children's charity 'Make-A-Wish'.
