Press Days

The Junior team ventured out to look at what the high street has in store for Autumn/Winter 09. First up was Marks & Spencer, whose Autograph range (aimed at premium shoppers) gets better every season. Highlights included a sparkling array of sequins on tunics, baseball boots, berets and beyond sequin leggings, a running trend from all the big stores. For boyswear there were stand-out accessories with quirky brown leather baseball boots and tartan plimsoles.
Cath Kidston hosted her press day along side a sample sale, which had every girly fashionista grappling over last season’s floral goodies. Collection wise, Kidston offered more of her famed florals, as well as cute pyjamas and knitwear for children featuring ducks, cowboys, cows and poodles. No trend setting here, but Kidston really doesn’t need to try with an already established fan base.
Debenhams showed childrenswear ranges from their Designers At Debenhams collections, including minimalist knits and autumnal shades from John Rocha, floral and butterfly print dresses from ethnic-inspired Matthew Williamson; casual wear from Jasper Conran and best of all Ted Baker’s smart but modern offerings of cute striped knitwear, smart knitted hats and scarves and array of colorful padded jackets.
