Moda Footwear show report

Today the fashion team headed to Birmingham NEC for the UK’s largest footwear trade fair. The event happens once every season and houses some of the biggest adults and childrenswear brands in the business. As well as viewing some of the adults catwalk shows, we got to see the new children’s spring/summer 2010 shoe collections and spotted some exciting editions. Greens, slate blues and strong yellows were popular, with the Danish brand Angulas presenting a collection of saltwater sandals and t-bar‘s and Gant showcasing an array of baseball boots in bolds.

Froddo presented white trainers, casual Espadrilles, t-bars, while Naturino and Lelli Kelly had casuals in glitzy silvers, with beading in royal gold and baseball boots were everywhere.

Despite the recession, brands did venture down the more luxury route; surrealist Moschino echoed their infamous adult lines with shoes decorated in giant lips and hearts, Pediped expanded their couture line with beautiful gold sandals with fringed details and mock croc skins, Elephantino a new addition to the fair, presented silver pumps and lace-ups all with brogue details. Froddo ventured for a dressier clientele with a small capsule collection of dress shoes, brogues and monk straps crafted in patent blacks and browns.
